Clinical Epidemiology of Mothers with COVID-19 Hospitalized in Ardabil Province

Background: Pregnancy and childbirth do not increase the risk of COVID-19 infection, but clinical complications worsening are more severe than in non-pregnant women. Objectives: The aim this study was to determine epidemiology mothers with hospitalized Ardabil province. Methods: In cross-sectional descriptive study, medical records 20193 women childbearing age from March 2020 August 20 were reviewed. Gestational age, cause hospitalization, trend disease pregnancy, possible non-obstetric evaluated. Data analyzed by using statistical tests SPSS version 21. Results: 9942 childbirths performed, which 5965 cesarean sections, 3977 normal deliveries, 6990 preterm 72 had stillbirths. Also, 73 (0.73%) pregnant early symptoms COVID-19. highest range 25 - 30 years, mostly first pregnancy (41.9%) third trimester (61.6%) persistent dry cough, shortness breath, fever, muscle pain, chills, decreased arterial oxygen saturation they dizzy. Among all infected mothers, 20.5% a delivery, 8.2% stillbirth. 0.36% 0.46% PCR positive Conclusions: Pregnant show periods, result is comparable when SARS-CoV-2. 0.3% infected, high rate.
